Why the whining of our officials around the world is not diplomacy but shame

(Patria) - It cannot be claimed for everyone, but it can certainly be claimed for the vast majority of Bosnian-Herzegovinian officials that pathetic whining around the world about the situation in our homeland is their only method and instrument in their diplomatic (in)action.

It is true that this approach has dominated our so-called diplomacy for decades, however, with the emergence of the 'Trojka' government and the appearance of their cadres in foreign policy, from the Presidency of BiH to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this approach is taking on grotesque forms.

It has simply become extremely uncomfortable to watch how Bosnian-Herzegovinian officials repeatedly emit the cries of drowning people on behalf of all of us and on behalf of our country during every meeting with foreign officials, how they frantically assure the hosts they visit that it is all over for us as a country and a people, and how this or that must be urgently engaged if the survival of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to be seen.

A good portion of our officials think they are doing something useful by representing us in the world as a hundred times weaker, more helpless, and more pathetic than we actually are somewhere (not in everything). Such an attitude and representation deserve not only dignified contempt but also thorough criticism and concrete consequences for those who persistently do it, causing damage to all of us.

Besides being outrageously ridiculous in its diplomatic tone when considering the suffering of innocent people around the world and our collective comfort, it is completely counterproductive. Because who can respect such an approach, and what doors can such undignified behavior open? No one can respect it, and it regularly opens only doors of contempt and disrespect with serious diplomats and statesmen.

Therefore, instead of fruitlessly whining and bothering world officials with Bosnia and Herzegovina's internal issues, Bosnian-Herzegovinian officials must finally start offering cooperation where we, as a country, can offer it in some area.

Offering cooperation is not calling on great powers to solve our problems. If there is nothing to offer, if we cannot realize any projects, then for a start, it would be good for our officials to stop whining to anyone who will listen about the state of the country, for several reasons.

First of all, with their whining, they present us as weaker than we are, and weakness attracts no one but bullies. It would be good for our officials not to attract bullies, because then we will have to spend our energy and resources defending ourselves from the very bullies from whom we have already defended ourselves.

Whining on the international stage only strengthens the internal enemy, who benefits from an atmosphere of instability and crisis. It strengthens them by creating the impression that the internal enemies of our country are stronger than the country itself, which they are not.

Diplomatic meetings are not for us to confess our internal problems. No normal person in the world can look favorably upon the bores from Bosnia who offer nothing but ask for charity and protection.

Finally, it is time for our officials to stop projecting their incompetence and irrelevance onto the entire country.

The fact that you are politically colorblind, motivated only by your own ego when it comes to state engagement, and unable to see the complete failure of your approach, which causes disgust in the serious world of diplomacy, in no way gives you the right to elevate your incompetence to a broader national and collective level.

The people of this country who create new values, people who produce, people who achieve success, do not deserve to be associated with you by imposing your helplessness and ideological sterility, yet they are associated because you represent them, both when, after thirty years, you seek recognition from countries that recognized us long ago, and when, after all that, you seek and claim to have received guarantees for our survival from someone.
