Protection of Forest Resources: Inspection Supervision to be Intensified

The FBiH Government adopted the Information of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry on forest management in the Federation of BiH in 2014 and forest management plans for 2015, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Cantonal governments were recommended to undertake all necessary activities aimed at fully implementing all plans based on forest management foundations, with special emphasis on the even realization of the cutting plan, biological forest renewal, construction of forest infrastructure and implementation of integral forest protection, and to monitor the dynamics of foundation realization through cantonal forestry administrations and report to the Federal Forestry Administration.

All forest users are obliged to evenly implement all forest management plans prescribed by forest management foundations, especially plans for silvicultural works and plans for forest infrastructure construction.

In order to overcome the difficult situation in the forestry sector caused by the lack of a forestry law, the Government of the Federation of BiH will accelerate the procedure for adopting a new forestry law and its adoption under urgent procedure in the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.

The Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs was instructed to, in cooperation with cantonal inspectorates, cantonal forestry administrations and relevant ministries of internal affairs, intensify inspection supervision in the field of forestry, timber trade and processing.

The Information on forest management in the Federation of BiH in 2014 and forest management plans for 2015, together with the Conclusions of the Government of the Federation of BiH, will be forwarded to the cantonal governments.
