(Patria) - The Minister of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Sarajevo Canton, Enda Pavić Pečenković, held a meeting today with the president of the Association of Social Workers of Sarajevo Canton, Sanela Pekić, and a member of this association, Fatima Bećirević.
The meeting was held at the initiative of the representatives of the aforementioned Association on the topic of introducing supervision for professional workers in social protection institutions in Sarajevo Canton, with the aim of preventing their professional burnout, as well as strengthening personal and professional capacities.
As highlighted, supervision is not implemented in practice in Sarajevo Canton, although there is a legal basis for it, as it is prescribed in the Law on Social Protection, Protection of Civilian War Victims and Protection of Families with Children, and in 2019, the Rulebook on the Implementation of Supervision in Social Protection Institutions was adopted, while social protection institutions plan the implementation of supervision in their work programs.
Minister Pavić Pečenković gave full support to the Association in their efforts to start implementing supervision.
The goal of all institutions in the social protection system, as highlighted, is certainly the protection and strengthening of the competencies of professional employees, including through the establishment of supervision, through joint activities of the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees and the Association of Social Workers of Sarajevo Canton.
