TK Crisis Staff Meets: No Infected Persons, Caution is Always Necessary

(Patria) - The crisis staff for the coronavirus met in the Tuzla Canton, and it was announced at the press conference that the situation is not alarming - but that caution is always necessary.

The cantonal Minister of Health, Dajana Čolić, stated that there are no confirmed cases of the disease in this canton, but that as a preventive measure, all health centers in TK have been ordered to undergo training on how to take samples.

"The Public Health Institute has tasked health institutions to reiterate to them how to isolate and care for individuals who have been in crisis countries. Based on recommendations, the crisis staff has made a recommendation to travel agencies to cancel trips to crisis areas," she said.

Lists of all agencies that organized trips within the last seven days and trips abroad have been requested - in order to know whether they will comply with the recommendations.

"All individuals who have been in countries affected by the coronavirus are asked to report to their health centers independently, where they will receive instructions on how to behave. The situation is not alarming, caution is always necessary. We are trying to do our job well," stated Čolić.

She also mentioned that one person reported to the UKC Tuzla on their own, having been to Italy.

"It is a driver who was driving to Venice. He has no symptoms, only a mild sore throat. Swabs have been taken. We are awaiting the results. As soon as they are released - we will know. He has been ordered to self-isolate at home for 14 days," it was announced after the TK crisis staff meeting.

There will be no suspension of classes in schools, it was announced.

Otherwise, all BiH and foreign citizens who have permanent or temporary residence in FBiH, i.e., Tuzla, and who have returned to BiH and Tuzla from China, Iran, South Korea, and Italy in the last 7 days, are urged to contact the Hygiene and Epidemiology Service of the Health Center in Tuzla, at phone number 035 368 428, regardless of whether they have symptoms of a respiratory illness or not. In case of symptoms of a respiratory illness (elevated temperature, cough, difficulty breathing), citizens should inform either the Hygiene and Epidemiology Service of the Health Center in Tuzla or the Emergency Service by phone.
