KS Assembly Convenes, Will the Opposition Take Over?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A working session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly will be held today in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting at 10:00 AM.

The session will be held online and will be broadcast live on Televizija Sarajevo, as well as via the TVSA website.

The agenda of the session includes, among other things, deputies' questions, initiatives and answers, the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Police Officers of Sarajevo Canton - urgent procedure, the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton - urgent procedure, and the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Adult Education.

Cantonal deputies are also expected to consider the Proposal of the Decision on giving consent to the Proposal of the Agreement on resolving the problems of the public utility company KJKP “GRAS” d.o.o. Sarajevo, the Proposal of the Decision on accepting the loan under the Loan Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Project „Sarajevo Public Transport Phase 3“;, and the Proposal of the Decision on accepting the loan under the Loan Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for the implementation of the Project "Energy Efficiency - Additional Financing".

The session will also review the business and financial reports of several public companies, as well as the crime situation report.

Given that the current opposition has announced a recomposition of the parliamentary majority in recent months, there is a possibility that this will happen today.

The announcements have mainly been in the direction of taking over the assembly majority, and that the KS Government will also change after the Local Elections in November. Opposition leaders have stated that they have the majority, and we will find out today whether the cantonal parliament will get a new majority.
