SDA KS Executive Board convenes: Čampara's resignation on the agenda

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Executive Board of the SDA of Sarajevo Canton will convene today, where they are expected to declare their position on Aljoša Čampara's resignation from the position of SDA Presidency member. Although such a move by Čampara could have been predicted in recent months, and especially in the last few days, some were nevertheless surprised by his resignation, which he publicly announced on Sunday. He sent his irrevocable resignation to the party leadership and the president of the GO SDA. One of those caught off guard by this resignation is the head of KO SDA Sarajevo, Fikret Prevljak, who was informed of the resignation by SDA president Bakir Izetbegović.

Čampara did not wish to comment on the matter to the media, stating that he had said everything in his letter. In the letter, he states that the SDA, in its current form, is losing authority among citizens due to corruption and criminal affairs that have not been resolved for months since their discovery, referring to the "Asim" affair. The last straw was the attack on Čampara's associates in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the FBiH, orchestrated by the director of OSA, Osman Mehmedagić Osmica, which led him to decide to leave the party bodies.

SDA President Bakir Izetbegović stated as early as the middle of last week that the KS Government might fall due to some dissatisfaction within the party. For now, Čampara has neither confirmed nor denied whether he will support the dismissal of the KS Government or be part of a new parliamentary majority, but there is evident disagreement with his party colleagues in the KS Assembly on numerous issues.
