Executive Board of SDA Canton Committee convenes: Konaković and Šabić present their plans for functioning of the Sarajevo Canton

Citizens of the Sarajevo Canton will learn the name of the new mandate-holder for the new Government tonight, writes the Patria news agency.

Although it was announced that the mandate-holder for the new Government was to be elected yesterday, that did not happen, because the Executive Board of the SDA Canton Committee Sarajevo postponed the session. The reason for moving the session is reportedly of a technical nature.

Incidentally, the candidates for this position are Elmedin Dino Konaković and Muharem Šabić, and as Patria unofficially learns from 28 members of the Executive Board, the majority are in favor of Konaković.

Namely, compared to Muharem Šabić, the technical director of the failed company BH Airlines and a professor at the Faculty of Transport and Communications in Sarajevo, Konaković has more political experience and is well acquainted with the situation in the Sarajevo Canton.

In both the previous and current convocation of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, Konaković has been the head of the SDA Deputy Club.

Also, compared to Šabić, he is more familiar with the issues in the Sarajevo Canton, which is very important for the prime ministerial position because there is no more time to waste while some "outsider" politically acclimatizes, regardless of his professional references.

In addition, Konaković also has electoral legitimacy, which is very important and, along with all the above, gives him an additional advantage over Šabić.

In the elections in October 2014, he won 10,738 votes for a deputy in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.

Jasmin Bučo previously withdrew from the race for prime minister.
