SDP Main Committee Meeting: What will delegates decide, whom will they support for FBiH Vice President?

The session of the Main Committee of the Social Democratic Party is being held today in Tuzla, at which the party's position regarding the formation of the executive government should become known, reports the Patria news agency.

Judging by the statements of members, as well as the party president Nermin Nikšić himself, there is hope that the SDP will adopt a position that will enable the election of the President and Vice Presidents of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This party will not enter the government, meaning it will not propose a candidate for Vice President of the Federation from the Serbian people, but there is a possibility that the SDP will provide signatures for a candidate from another party, who would thus be elected to the vice-presidential position, thereby “breaking” the blockade on the establishment of government in the Federation.

Thus, the SDP could support the candidate of the Democratic Front (DF), Slobodan Šoja, whom many consider a serious candidate for Vice President. There is also increasingly loud talk that the SNSD could propose its own candidate for Vice President of the Federation of BiH.

The Main Committee of the SDP BiH is the highest body of the SDP BiH between two congresses. The Main Committee of the SDP BiH has 110 members elected by the Congress of the SDP BiH, taking into account the territorial, national, social, gender and age representation of SDP BiH members.
