Exhumation begins at Korićanske stijene site

In the wider area of Korićanske stijene, on Mount Vlašić, by order of the BiH Prosecutor's Office and a BiH Court order, the process of exhumation and search for mortal remains of victims killed at Korićanske stijene on August 21, 1992, began today.

An investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH is on site, coordinating the process of exhumation and search for mortal remains in coordination with the prosecutor in charge.

The exhumation is being carried out in an extremely inaccessible and complex terrain.

Officials from the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, a forensic medicine specialist, police officers from the competent police station, and necessary workers are participating in the exhumation process.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, together with partner institutions, participates in the processes of exhumation and searching for missing persons throughout BiH.
