Yule log lit in Banja Luka, Sarajevo...

(Patria) - Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosna held an evening service at the Orthodox Church of Saints Archangels Michael and Gabriel in Sarajevo, after which he attended the lighting of the Yule log.

Addressing the faithful, who gathered in large numbers, Metropolitan Hrizostom said that this is the greatest holiday of Christian joy and divine love that has come among Orthodox believers to be with them.

"In the Christmas holiday, we feel that God has come and is with us. God is the one who brings peace on Earth, and goodwill among people," said the Metropolitan of Dabar-Bosna.

He said that this is not just a Christian holiday, but a holiday of heaven and Earth, of all people, of all ages and times.

According to him, the most important thing is that there is goodwill among people.

Metropolitan Hrizostom will hold the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy on Christmas Day at the Cathedral Church in Sarajevo starting at 9:00 AM, it was announced from the Metropolitanate of Dabar-Bosna.

This evening, a service was held at the Cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour on the occasion of Christmas Eve. Orthodox believers in Banja Luka, including the President of Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović, attended the prayer led by Bishop Jefrem of Banja Luka. The lighting, or burning, of the Yule log was held in the courtyard of another Banja Luka church – the Church of the Holy Trinity.
