Frozen roads due to low temperatures, drive carefully

(Patria) - Based on data collected from relevant road services, road conditions are difficult due to unfavorable winter conditions. Traffic on the Bosansko Grahovo-Strmica main road is allowed exclusively for passenger vehicles and is proceeding in one lane. On the Trnovo-Foča (via Rogoja) and Bosansko Grahovo - Drvar road sections, the use of chains for heavy goods vehicles is mandatory.

Low temperatures, reaching up to -15°C, are causing icy conditions and frozen roadways, and spreading material is acting slowly. Snow up to 2.5 cm has been recorded on some sections, particularly on the Bosanski Petrovac - Lanište, Bosanski Petrovac-Oštrelj-Drvar, and Lanište-Ključ-Vrhpolje routes. Roadways are intermittently frozen, wet, or damp, while some sections are dry but with fog and low temperatures present.

There are still frequent reports of broken trees on the roadway, which occasionally causes short traffic delays. We advise drivers to exercise maximum caution, adjust their speed to road conditions, and possess mandatory winter equipment, especially in mountainous areas.

Traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons on the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons remains suspended.

Vehicle traffic is increased at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Gradiška border crossing. At other border crossings, passenger vehicle traffic is proceeding with delays of up to 30 minutes.

Due to the registration of passengers under the new European Union entry and exit system (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing is open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all heavy goods vehicles is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
