Gemalto's appeal prolongs issuance of BiH passports?

The Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange of BiH (IDDEEA) today, after completing the appeal filed by Gemalto in the process of procuring passport books, forwarded it to the BiH Office for Review of Appeals for processing.

- We expect the BiH Office for Review of Appeals to prioritize the resolution of this case in accordance with the Law on Public Procurement and the conclusion of the BiH Council of Ministers from February 16 this year, and to decide on the appeal as soon as possible within its capabilities.

We note that IDDEEA announced a tender for the procurement of passport books eight days ago, and this is a procurement procedure that the Law on Public Procurement prescribes in cases of extreme urgency.

Two companies applied for the tender, and their bids will be considered after the BiH Office for Review of Appeals decides on the appeal of Gemalto, which did not apply for the tender.

We believe that all institutions involved in the decision-making process will understand the urgency of the procedure so that the procurement of passport books is completed on time, and the continuity of passport issuance continues uninterrupted after March 21 - say IDDEEA.
