Grief over the death of the legendary Balašević: Sarajevo bids farewell to a friend

(Patria) - Citizens of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina paid tribute to the late artist Đorđe Balašević at the Skenderija plateau.

The gathering was organized via social media, and a large number of citizens are expected at Skenderija.

The gathering in front of Skenderija also has symbolic weight, as the great Balaš held his last concert in Sarajevo there in 2018.

With tears, verses, and the beats of the legendary Novi Sad native's hits, Sarajevans lit candles, wrote farewell messages, and left roses and plush toys. A mini-concert was held, and some of his unforgettable hits were later played on the guitar.

Grief over the death of the legendary singer-songwriter Đorđe Balašević is felt throughout the region. In many cities, people have been saying goodbye on the streets to the man who marked many generations with his music.
