Laws for flood relief still travelling from Parliament to Živko Budimir

The procedure for adopting the law on the establishment of the federal Fund for assistance to areas affected by natural disasters on the territory of FBiH was completed in the Parliament of the Federation of BiH as early as June 30, reports the Patria News Agency.

The Draft Law on financing assistance for the removal of consequences of natural disasters and the reconstruction of areas affected by natural disasters, as well as the Draft Law on the procedure for transferring ownership of real estate owned by FBiH, cantons, cities, and municipalities, to affected areas, were also adopted.

However, these laws have not yet reached the Presidency of FBiH, confirmed Živko Budimir, President of FBiH, for NAP.

- I haven't received anything yet. I've been in the office all day, but the laws haven't arrived – said Budimir, emphasizing that it is usual for them to take 10 to 15 days to travel from Parliament to the Presidency building.

Without Budimir's signature, there can be no publication in the Official Gazette, and fears were previously expressed that money from the FBiH Government's accounts would not be quickly operational.

Namely, it is evident that it will take at least a month to form the fund's organization so that it can legally operate and so that money can be legally spent, and then the annual leave follows...

On the other hand, the set of anti-corruption laws has not been published in the Official Gazette either, although they were adopted on June 5.

- I don't know about that. I can't remember signing them. It's best to ask in my office – Budimir added.
