LAWS ON HOLD House of Representatives of FBiH postpones session due to coronavirus

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Given the new situation and the declaration of a state of natural disaster caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), we inform you that the regular session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, is postponed until further notice as a precaution and out of responsibility towards citizens, the FBiH Parliament announced.

The Collegium of the House of Representatives welcomes all measures taken to protect the health of the population by the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters, and calls on the Government of the Federation of BiH to, in addition to enhanced and prioritized care for the health and lives of citizens, pay special attention to the protection and preservation of economic entities that are already feeling serious consequences of the coronavirus epidemic. In order to mitigate the consequences, it is necessary for all of us to make additional efforts, because only through coordinated activities can we help preserve the economic stability of the economic sector in BiH.

The Collegium of the House of Representatives expresses its readiness and calls on all representatives of the House of Representatives to, in accordance with their professional training and competencies, make themselves available to the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters and all citizens now when we need every form of solidarity and understanding to mitigate the consequences of the global epidemiological shock.

The House of Representatives, in order to protect the health of the population and preserve the liquidity of economic entities, is ready at any time to schedule and hold a session if there is a need to consider legal acts that will in any way help combat the coronavirus epidemic.

We also call on and ask all citizens to respect the orders of the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters and competent institutions, and to show extreme responsibility towards themselves and their surroundings, the statement said.
