(Patria) - The Law on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will also be on the agenda of the next session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, scheduled for tomorrow, March 12. This agenda item was added later, as this agenda item was not planned in the original call for the session of the Council of Ministers.
The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, said that the law on the Court of BiH will be supported only if the Serb side agrees, adding that the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, should not risk relations within the partnership at the BiH level by doing so unilaterally.
Krišto, incidentally, announced in a letter to European Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi that this law should be on the next session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, which caused a great stir and dissatisfaction in Republika Srpska, specifically the SNSD, which forms the government at the state level with the HDZ and the parties of the Trojka.
However, the law did make it onto the agenda.
The law made it onto the agenda
The Law on the Court of BiH is another condition set by the European Commission for BiH to open accession negotiations with the EU.
BiH has adopted the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorist Organizations, as well as the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest and the Law on Civil Service. They have also added the adopted Agreement on opening negotiations with Frontex.
As for the Law on the Court of BiH, the biggest obstacle among the political leaders of the Trojka and SNSD remains the seat of the Appellate Division. While the Trojka insists on Istočno Sarajevo, Dodik wants the seat to be in Banja Luka, specifically as far from Sarajevo as possible.
The opposition, on the other hand, repeats that the biggest problem with this law is jurisdiction, not where it will be located.
