Conclusion of the DF Presidency: Post-election machinations attempt to change election results

The Presidency of the DF adopted at today's session the conclusion that it remains committed to reform processes, the fastest possible formation of government and moving the country forward on the principles of the directly expressed will of the people in the recent elections, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- The Presidency called on other parties, members of the parliamentary majority at the state and entity level, to an urgent meeting of delegations of all parties participating in the coalition. Given that the talks so far have not yielded the desired results, the DF believes it is necessary to return the process of forming the government to the initial programmatic principles on which the parliamentary majority was established.

Our basic principle, in any talks on forming the executive government, will be the number of votes won in the elections held in October 2014. The DF is permanently committed to the principle of all the same, all equal, at every step, and therefore rejects attempts to change the election results through post-election machinations.

The Presidency of the DF welcomed the election of Milan Dunović as Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- We are confident that Mr. Dunović, in accordance with the Constitution of the FBiH, will ensure that the interests of citizens are placed first during the possible election of a new Government of the FBiH.

Finally, the Presidency of the DF welcomed the adoption of the statement on EU integration of BiH by the Presidency of BiH. The DF contributed during the negotiations on the statement and we believe that BiH has received a chance that it must not miss.

The DF is ready to cooperate with everyone on the path of BiH's integration into the EU and NATO, regardless of the parties' positions in the past. We are especially proud of the fact that we prevented the insertion into the statement of the so-called „Brussels principles“ according to which peoples are electoral units. Future amendments to the Constitution and the Election Law are possible only in the direction of full equality of all citizens, especially those who do not belong to any of the currently recognized ethnic groups.
