
(Patria) - Minister of Labour, Social Policy and Refugees of ZDK Antonio Šimunović today signed contracts defining mutual rights and obligations of the contracting parties regarding the earmarked spending of approved funds for marking significant dates for institutions and non-governmental organisations in the field of social protection, protection of civilian victims of war, and protection of families with children in the area of ZDK.
By a decision of the Government of ZDK, funds totalling 50,000.00 KM were approved for three public institutions and fourteen non-governmental organisations, supporting projects for marking the following significant dates:
‣ 23 September - International Day of Sign Languages;
‣ 1 October - International Day of Older Persons;
‣ 15 October - International White Cane Day / Day of Blind and Visually Impaired Persons;
‣ 17 October - World Day for the Eradication of Poverty;
‣ 29 October - Day of Civilian Victims of War of Zenica-Doboj Canton;
‣ 20 November - Universal Children’s Day;
‣ 25 November - International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women / Day against Domestic Violence;
‣ 3 December - International Day of Persons with Disabilities (including persons with physical impairments, mental and combined disorders).
During the signing of the contracts, the signatories expressed gratitude for the transparent and efficient procedures and cooperation with the relevant ministry, while also thanking for the support of project activities.
Minister Šimunović emphasised the expectations of the relevant ministry that this support will contribute to raising awareness of the rights and services of the populations marking these significant dates.
