Thanks to the Employment Service KS, Nihad Hajrić Founded an IT Company

Nihad Hajrić, an information technology engineer from Sarajevo, recognized an opportunity to secure employment through the public call of the Sarajevo Canton Employment Service and the Self-Employment Co-financing Program, announced in June this year, reports the Patria agency.

Given that this year's Self-Employment Co-financing Program prioritized unemployed persons starting businesses in the production, tourism, and IT sectors, he believed his IT project "BITS" and application would be positively evaluated.

And he was not mistaken. Engineer Hajrić was among the 338 individuals for whom the Service allocated 2,436,790 KM for co-financing self-employment projects.

After losing his job and spending eight months on the register of the Novi Grad Employment Bureau, Hajrić wondered what to do next – get a job and work for someone, or work for himself and be his own boss.

- You are "bombarded" with negative information from all sides, saying this is not good, that is not good. It makes your mind freeze, and every idea, every initiative stops halfway. However, thanks to the support of my friends, I dared to make a project and apply. I saw an opportunity for myself in today's business, an open market, new methods and techniques, such as the IT industry and consulting services – Hajrić recalls.

With the help of the financial resources he saved, he registered the company "BITS d.o.o." for consulting services, web design, and programming. Although he signed a contract with the Service these days and started the project implementation, the first jobs are already on the horizon.

- I have signed several contracts with a few companies and I am satisfied with the work they offered me. Since I have worked in a similar company before, I am not afraid that I will not be able to survive in the market, because there are more and more jobs and employment opportunities in this field. For now, I will work from home, but if the business expands, I am already thinking about business premises, as well as hiring employees – says Hajrić.

Until then, the Service will, in accordance with the Labor Law, refund him, as well as other persons covered by this program, 600 KM per month for a period of 12 months, all in the hope that the Sarajevo Canton market will be enriched with another business entity, and the number of registered unemployed persons will be as small as possible.
