Thanks to Centar Municipality: KK Spars youngsters will have better training conditions

While other levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina are reducing spending on sports, the Centar Municipality of Sarajevo is providing increasingly significant funds for this area year after year, even though it is not within its jurisdiction. Thus, 477,300 KM have been planned for sports in this year's municipal budget, announced the Centar Municipality, reports the Patria News Agency.

The Mayor of Centar Municipality, Dževad Bećirević, pays great attention to the youngest residents and tries in every possible way to encourage children to engage in sports. First and foremost, this is attempted by financing free sports schools, but also by supporting successful clubs and individuals.

The latest example of this is the financial support for the Spars Basketball Club, a multiple champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in various categories, which received a donation of ten thousand marks from the municipal budget. 

The Spars Basketball Club, in addition to producing a large number of national team players for our country, gathers more than 400 children from the Centar municipality area, and this was a sufficient indicator that this club deserves the support of the Municipality. Nermin Selimović, director of KK Spars, stated during the signing of the donation protocol that the support from the Centar Municipality means a lot for the children who will have much better conditions for training.

-I want to thank the Centar Municipality for the funds allocated to us. Our club's basketball school gathers more than 600 children, and a large number of them are from the Centar municipality area. Thanks to this donation, our youngest will have better conditions for development and progress, Selimović emphasized.

The donation protocol was handed over to director Selimović on behalf of Mayor Bećirević by Jasna Beba, secretary of the municipal administrative body, and Mustafa Resić, advisor to the mayor.

Beba stated that the Centar Municipality has been helping the development of sports, clubs that are the best ambassadors of our country, and top athletes for years.

-The Centar Municipality, Mayor Bećirević, and the Municipal Council support everyone who creates new values in various fields. In line with our financial capabilities, we will continue to contribute to the development and promotion of sports in our country in the future, Beba stated, according to the announcement.
