ZOI '84 Workers' Demands Not Yet Met, Protest Gathering Today in Ferhadija

Workers of the state-owned company ZOI '84 will gather again today in front of the Sarajevo Canton Government building, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Around 180 workers of this company are demanding payment of ten unpaid salaries, the appointment of a new Supervisory Board and a new director for the company, and the approval of an eight million convertible mark loan that will be the engine for this reputable BH company to embark on new projects, which will bring the company back to profitability.

ZOI '84 has been without management for several weeks. The KS Government and the company's Assembly have promised the workers that the new Supervisory Board and the new company director will be appointed no later than 3 PM today.

Alija Hodžić, president of the ZOI '84 workers' union, told Patria that the KS Government, which owns the company, and the company's Assembly have only a few more hours to fulfill their promise, and they sincerely hope they will do so.

- Today we will organize another protest march through Sarajevo's main street, Ferhadija, but we hope this will be our last gathering and that our demands will be met by 3 PM. We are not asking for anything other than what every citizen in a democratic country is entitled to; salary, contributions, and a job – said Hodžić.

A group of about ten workers have remained locked in the Zetra premises since Wednesday in a sign of support for all ZOI 84 employees, Patria reports.
