(Patria) - The National Assembly of the BiH entity RS should hold a session tomorrow at which it would again consider banning the work of the State Investigation and Protection Agency on the territory of RS, challenge the legality and decisions of the Court of BiH, and adopt a decision on blocking BiH institutions. This possible scenario was commented on today by Haris Zahiragić, a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, a representative in the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton, and vice-president of the SDA.
"The National Assembly of the RS entity has had such announcements before, in previous years. If they adopt such a decision, law, or anything of the sort, it will be a direct, not an attack, but a coup d'état. And then SIPA, the Court, and the Prosecutor's Office will have to confirm both the jurisdiction and sovereignty and authority over that part of BiH territory. This is by no means trivial; they are pushing boundaries. Earlier, too, they should have been held accountable in some way—the National Assembly of RS and the proposers of those types of solutions and laws. Mr. Dodik is currently answering for disrespecting the decisions of the High Representative, even though with that act he committed the criminal offense of undermining the constitutional order.
If they do this, I call on SIPA and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to sanction those responsible and to show that this law cannot be applied," says Zahiragić.
As he pointed out, if anyone tried to prevent SIPA and the Prosecutor's Office from exercising their jurisdiction on the territory of the RS entity, that would de facto mean a declaration of war on the state of BiH.
"That would be a declaration of war on the state of BiH, that would be a coup; I don't know if the RS authorities are ready to go that far. If they are, and that is an option, then let's see who is stronger—the RS entity or the state of BiH.
It is a complex and dangerous time; I call on them not to play with fire, bearing in mind the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, the genocide being carried out, the Russian aggression on Ukraine, and the events in Syria. A major hotspot is moving from east to west, and I call on them not to be a coin for haggling and yet another potential hotspot for Vladimir Putin in the heart of Europe. If they really decide to do something like that, I truly have no confidence in Edin Forto and other representatives of Sarajevo in the Council of Ministers of BiH, but there are patriotic forces that will know how to respond, even though we have been thrown out of power," said Zahiragić.
