Hugs and tears at Sarajevo airport: Families welcome their loved ones

Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and their relatives have finally arrived in Sarajevo from Gaza. They landed at Sarajevo airport and after lengthy checks, passed through the exit where they were met by families and citizens. There were tears on their faces, and sadness and happiness were mixed.

A group of citizens arrived from Cairo via Istanbul an hour ago, while others will arrive tonight at 8 PM. There are still citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cairo, as well as in Gaza, waiting to reach Bosnia and Herzegovina. BiH authorities have promised to do everything to save them as soon as possible.


Some were waiting for their fathers, some for mothers, some for wives and children, and some for sisters.

Citizens who do not have relatives were also at the airport, but they came to show support and solidarity. Sumeja brought sweets for the children.

They were also welcomed by representatives of BiH authorities and ambassadors, N1 reports.

Jamal Mosleh, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina who spent almost two months in the Gaza Strip saving lives, arrived with a group of 26 people at Sarajevo airport today.



“The situation is very difficult, and I am personally grateful to Bosnia and Herzegovina for taking care of us and evacuating us, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We are grateful. The situation down there is still difficult, catastrophic. Only death can be heard in the streets of Gaza,” said Dr. Mosleh.

He says there is no safe place in Gaza.
