Two candidates in play for Zvizdić, Sarajlić unaware of Bučo's withdrawal!

Members of the Executive Board of the SDA Cantonal Committee should tomorrow review and familiarize themselves with the programs of candidates for the mandate holder to form the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, Elmedin Konaković and Muharem Šabić. It is known that Jasmin Bučo, executive director of the FBiH Motorways Public Company, who allegedly faced numerous pressures and even threats, has withdrawn his candidacy, reports the Patria news agency.

Denis Zvizdić, candidate for Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and President of the SDA Cantonal Committee, says there is no delay in selecting the mandate holder, but that it is all a matter of procedures established in the SDA Cantonal Committee.

- We have now narrowed the number of candidates to two. They have been tasked with preparing their presentations, i.e., work programs and their vision for the further development of the canton, and this will be completed in the next few days – says Zvizdić.

He further dismissed speculation that Bučo withdrew his candidacy due to pressures.

- His withdrawal very clearly indicates that he wants to tie his professional intentions to his professional engagement in his field at the level of the FBiH. And we could have a mandate holder for the Government of the Sarajevo Canton in the next few days – added Zvizdić.

Asim Sarajlić, however, says that people simply cannot get used to the fact that the SDA is a democratic party and that there are always multiple candidates and freedom of speech within it.

- The SDA has also shown in the Sarajevo Canton that there are multiple candidates for every position – says Sarajlić.

Explaining the selection of the mandate holder, Sarajlić, unlike Zvizdić, said that three names are still in play.

- I know that at least three names have been speculated about in the media: Prof. Bučo, Dino Konaković, and Muharem Šabić, who was proposed by the Novi Grad Municipal Organization. As far as I know, all three names are still in the running, along with some others, but that is up to the party bodies. The Cantonal Committee will make a decision, and we will give consent to whatever solution they propose – said Sarajlić, adding that the whole story will be wrapped up this week.
