Detention proposed for Zagreb dealer arrested in Laktaši

(Patria) - Acting within a 24-hour duty, the duty prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office coordinated activities with the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs concerning the arrest of a suspect, a citizen of BiH and R Croatia, in the Laktaši area.

The suspect, Tomislav Martić, born in 1982, residing in Zagreb, was arrested after police officers, during a vehicle inspection, found and seized about half a kilogram of the narcotic drug "cocaine" in hidden compartments in the vehicle's trunk.

The suspect is accused of illegally smuggling the aforementioned narcotic drug from the Republic of Croatia into the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina for international trafficking.

After questioning the suspect, the acting prosecutor submitted a proposal to the BiH Court
for the determination of detention, for the reasons described in Article 132, paragraph 1,
points a) and b) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, namely due to the risk of the suspect absconding, given that the suspect, in addition to BiH citizenship, also holds Croatian citizenship and a registered residence in Croatia, and the risk that he might obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, or influence witnesses or accomplices if released.
