3,500 KM for the Association of Paraplegics and Children's Paralysis Patients

The Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, through grants to non-profit organizations, supports various associations and foundations. Thus, the Association of Paraplegics and Children's Paralysis Patients of KS received 3,500 marks in 2015 for the project “Assistance to Sick Members from the Municipality of Centar”, reports the Patria News Agency.

According to Sabahudin Hreljić, President of the Steering Board of the Association of Paraplegics and Children's Paralysis Patients of KS, the project is intended for 20 members of the association from the territory of the Municipality of Centar.

-Through the project, we help sick and immobile individuals because many paraplegics are without family or close ones to care for them. In such circumstances, we engage a mobile service that visits their homes and assists with purchasing food and sanitary supplies, validating insurance cards, and buying medication. We also engage a physiotherapist who visits homes, said Hreljić.

Hreljić emphasized that the Municipality of Centar, led by Mayor Dževad Bećirević, has become a reliable partner of the association, and that this assistance means a lot to those who need it most.

-The Municipality of Centar has been supporting us for the last ten years. We have a very positive cooperation with Mayor Bećirević and the Service for Education, Culture, and Sport through which this project is realized. We have often turned to the Municipality of Centar for support beyond this project, and they have always assisted us. What is most important to us is that we can count on these funds every year because when we create our work plan, we generally anticipate receiving these funds, Hreljić stated, as announced by the Municipality of Centar.
