For threatening voters in Gacko, Dodik can only receive a minimal fine

(Patria) - During a party rally in Gacko, SNSD leader Milorad Dodik threatened that all those who vote for candidates of the „Alliance for Victory“ in the upcoming elections in BiH will be fired.

"Don't you dare, anyone employed in Gacko, vote for Govedarica and SDS. We will fire him from the job. And I ask you, whoever you see voting and is working, just let me know, I will fire him. Director, don't be so serious, I tell you openly, I don't want to see them anymore," Dodik said.

This is not the first open threat Dodik has made to citizens during the election campaign. Two years ago, during the local election campaign, he also threatened the citizens of Srebrenica.

Dodik told the people of Srebrenica that the RS government would help Srebrenica strengthen the local economy if candidate Mladen Grujičić won the elections on October 2, but, as he stated then, if Ćamil Duraković won again, „the people of Srebrenica would wait another four years for help.“

So far, the municipalities of Foča, the city of Doboj, and some other places in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska where the SNSD did not have local government have been under sanctions from the Banja Luka authorities.

Paragraph 4, Article 7.3 of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina strictly prohibits threats to voters. „It is forbidden to promise monetary rewards or other material benefits with the aim of gaining voter support or threatening supporters of other political parties, coalitions, lists of independent candidates, and independent candidates.“ Penalties for violating the Election Law of BiH in this case are not so rigorous, ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 KM in fines, Patria writes.
