Eight candidacies submitted for SDP president

Eight names are currently known for the new president of the Social Democratic Party of BiH (SDP), and the deadline for submitting candidacies is tomorrow at noon, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

According to Patria agency sources from the SDP leadership, seven candidates were nominated by organizations within the SDP, while Zukan Helez nominated himself. The nominated candidates are:

- Nermin Nikšić
- Damir Hadžić
- Bogić Bogićević
- Selim Bešlagić
- Denis Bećirović
- Slaviša Šućur
- Svetozar Pudarić
- Zukan Helez

A session of the SDP Presidency and the Personnel Commission is scheduled for November 20. The procedure requires that after an organization nominates a candidate, the nomination is reviewed by the Personnel Commission, which determines who supported the candidate and whether the formal requirements have been met.

The extraordinary congress of the SDP will be held on December 6.
