Treatment and necessary medicines provided for pensioners

The difficult economic situation in which not only our country, but also the region finds itself, particularly affects the older population. The Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, led by Mayor Dževad Bećirević, is socially sensitive and pays great attention to these and similar problems, so it traditionally allocates significant funds from its budget to help vulnerable categories of the population, including pensioners, reports the Patria News Agency.

The latest example of this is the financial support for the Centar Pensioners' Association for the project "Social Issues and Health Protection of Members of the Centar Sarajevo Pensioners' Association for 2015", for which 5,000 KM has been allocated from the municipal budget for this year.

This project envisages sending 11 pensioners, who are ill and in a weaker financial situation, for spa treatment, and the remaining money will be used to purchase medicines not on the essential list.

The president of the association, Šaćir Čavrk, notes that this project has been implemented for the second year in a row.

-Last year we applied and received money with which we sent 11 pensioners for ten days of treatment at Reumal in Fojnica. The cooperation with this local community and Mayor Bećirević is exceptional, so we receive money not only for this but also for other projects.

We also received 35,000 marks for medicines, and this money is distributed to a thousand pensioners specifically for the purchase of medicines not on the essential list. This is a huge help that the Municipality of Centar allocates to the Pensioners' Association, and on this occasion, on behalf of the association and all pensioners, I thank Mayor Bećirević for the support he provides us, emphasizes Čavrk.

Annually, the Municipality of Centar also allocates 1,000 KM for the association's work, it was announced from the Municipality of Centar.
