For Muriz Memić, none of the five defense teams had questions!

(Patria) - The trial of Zijad Mutap, Alisa Mutap-Ramić, Hasan Dupovac, Josip Barić, and Muamer Ožegović continued today at the Court of BiH after a two-month break.

The last trial was on October 14, when Muriz Memić, the father of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, whose death has not been clarified for almost six years, was examined as the first witness for the BiH Prosecutor's Office. At the previous hearing, Memić was examined by the BiH Prosecutor's Office, and today the defense teams of the accused were supposed to cross-examine him. However, none of the five defense teams had any questions for Memić.

The defense of Zijad and Alisa Mutap, lawyer Goran Dragović, stated that after analyzing the previous testimony, they determined that his statement did not essentially relate to their clients or the indictment.

The defense teams of the other accused joined this position.

On the night of February 8, 2016, Dženan Memić sustained head injuries under still unexplained circumstances while in the company of Alisa Mutap in Velika aleja on Ilidža, and he died at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo seven days later.

Although the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment for a traffic accident, and although they changed the qualification from murder to a traffic accident, they failed to prove during the court proceedings that Memić was hit by a vehicle.

The Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH confirmed the acquittal verdict for Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office concurrently conducted an investigation into organized crime.

On August 5, the Court of BiH confirmed the indictment against Zijad Mutap for the criminal offense of organized crime under Article 342, Paragraph 3, in conjunction with the criminal offenses of unlawful mediation under Article 382, Paragraph 2, the criminal offense of aiding the perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense under Article 346, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC FBiH), and the criminal offense of obstructing evidence under Article 349, Paragraph 1 of the CC FBiH; Alisa Ramić, formerly Mutap, for the criminal offense of organized crime under Article 342, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with the criminal offense of aiding the perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense under Article 346, Paragraph 2 of the CC FBiH, the criminal offense of obstructing evidence under Article 349, Paragraph 1 of the CC FBiH, the criminal offense of giving false testimony under Article 348, Paragraph 3 in conjunction with Paragraph 1 of the CC FBiH; Hasan Dupovac for the criminal offense of organized crime under Article 342, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with the criminal offense of unlawful mediation under Article 382, Paragraph 2, and the criminal offense of aiding the perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense under Article 346, Paragraph 2 of the CC FBiH; Josip Barić for the criminal offense of organized crime under Article 342, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with the criminal offenses of unlawful mediation under Article 382, Paragraph 2, and the criminal offense of aiding the perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense under Article 346, Paragraph 2 of the CC FBiH; and Muamer Ožegović for the criminal offense of organized crime under Article 342, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with the criminal offense of aiding the perpetrator after the commission of a criminal offense under Article 346, Paragraph 2 of the CC FBiH.

The indictment states, among other things, that the accused Zijad Mutap organized a criminal group with the aim of concealing evidence of the manner in which Dženan Memić sustained life-threatening injuries on February 8, 2016, due to which he died, and to which group the accused Hasan Dupovac, Alisa Ramić, Josip Barić, and Muamer Ožegović joined as members, and by concealing evidence and perpetrators, faking evidence, and concealing facts known to them, they undertook actions aimed at concealing the actual manner in which Dženan Memić sustained life-threatening injuries.

The next hearing will be held on December 23, when Arijana Memić, Nedžad Hrvat, and Velibor Ristivojević will testify.
