Remains of four victims of crimes committed in Zvornik ready for collective funeral in Memići

(Patria) - The remains of four victims of crimes committed in the Zvornik area between 1992 and 1995 are ready for the collective funeral at the Memići Memorial Complex and Martyrs' Cemetery - Gornja Kalesija, which will be held on June 1st this year.

These are victims of Bosniak nationality whose remains were exhumed in the Zvornik and Šekovići municipalities in the decades after the crime was committed.

The youngest victim to be buried in Memići is Izet (Ismet) Manjić. He was only 21 years old at the time of his death. He disappeared in 1992 in the Vlasenica area, and his remains were exhumed in 2004 at the Pelemiši site, Šekovići municipality. His family officially identified his remains in 2019.

This year, a woman will also be buried at the collective funeral. This is Sadika (Emin) Hrbatović, born in 1970 in Zvornik. She was only 23 years old at the time of her death in 1992. She disappeared in the Križevići area, and in 2008, her remains were found at the Križevići site.

This year, Senad (Abdurahman) Sulejmanović, born in 1964 in Novo Selo near Zvornik, will also be buried in Memići. He disappeared in 1993 at the Baljkovica site, and his remains were exhumed in 2008 at the Križevačke njive site, Zvornik municipality.

Smajo (Ibrahim) Hamzabegović, born in 1959 in Glodi near Zvornik, will also be buried in Kalesija. He also disappeared in 1992, and his remains were exhumed in 2000 at the Snagovo site, Zvornik municipality.
