Nearly 10,000 Passports Issued in Two Months, Up to 500 Applications Daily

The Travel Documents Department issued 9,772 passports from July 1 to August 21, of which 652 passports were issued under the so-called urgent procedure within 48 hours of submitting the application, reports the BH news agency Patria.

In the mentioned period, the number of applications for passport issuance ranged from 300 to 500 applications daily. Employees of the Department took all necessary measures to minimize citizen waiting times at locations, so despite the large number of applications, no significant queues were recorded at the counters for submitting applications and collecting travel documents.

Employees of the Travel Documents Department worked until 6:00 PM, and documents were issued within 15 days last month, while since the beginning of August, they are issued within 7 to 10 days, depending on the timeliness of the registry offices in delivering responses.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton reminds citizens that they can submit applications for passport issuance at the Travel Documents Department, as well as at all locations for issuing personal documents (post offices), and collect them at the Travel Documents Department in PS Novo Sarajevo every working day from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
