3.5 million KM for four cantons hit by floods

The Government of the Federation of BiH, at today's emergency telephone session, adopted the Decision on allocating part of the funds from the FBiH Budget for 2014 from the position of current transfers to areas affected by natural disasters, it was announced from the Government of FBiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

This is emergency financial aid totaling 3,500,000 convertible marks. The aid is directed towards four cantons that suffered major damage during the May floods, and in the past few days.

Specifically, Tuzla and Zenica-Doboj cantons will receive 1,225,000 KM each, and Una-Sana and Posavina cantons will receive 525,000 KM each. The funds are intended for urgent repairs of damages caused by natural disasters triggered by the floods of May and August 2014.

The Government of FBiH has tasked the cantons to submit reports on the use of funds within 60 days of payment. The use of allocated funds is subject to budget supervision based on the Law on Budgets in the Federation of BiH.

Such a decision was made after the Government considered the requests for assistance in removing the consequences of the latest floods, which were sent by the prime ministers of these cantons.

Before adopting the Decision, members of the Federal Government were informed about the extraordinary report of the Federal Civil Protection Administration for August 5 and 6, 2014, and about the requests for assistance sent from these cantons to the Government of FBiH, it was announced from the Government of FBiH, reports Patria.
