World Vision BiH to allocate 60,000 KM for food and hygiene items for the most vulnerable

SARAJevo, (Patria) - In light of the declaration of the global COVID-19 pandemic, World Vision BiH will redirect some of its funds to help the most vulnerable population categories and individuals who are engaged in activities to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, thus exposing themselves to the virus infection.

WV BiH will direct 60,000 KM of its regular program funds to the purchase of food products, protective equipment, masks and gloves, as well as hygiene and disinfection products.

The money will support the procurement of supplies for associations from the Roma sector, which represent one of the vulnerable categories of society, and 300 families across BiH will receive packages with basic food items, protective equipment, hygiene products, and educational materials in the Romani language.

"Aware of the importance of cooperation with state institutions, a systemic and synchronized response to the crisis, World Vision BiH has placed its resources and support at the disposal of relevant government institutions since the very beginning of the pandemic," said Larisa Klepac, Program Director of World Vision BiH.

In light of this cooperation, and upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Health of the Federation of BiH, World Vision will distribute support packages to vulnerable categories in FBiH in partnership with the Red Cross of the Federation of BiH, and is part of the coordination body established for this purpose. In cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska, protective equipment, hygiene products, and educational materials will primarily be provided for 8 institutions that care for children without parental care, children and persons with developmental disabilities, and the elderly.
