WHO raises coronavirus threat level to 'very high'

(Patria) - The World Health Organization has raised the threat and spread of coronavirus on a global level to a "very high" degree. However, they emphasized in a Twitter post that "our greatest enemy now is not the coronavirus itself but fear, rumors, and stigmatization."

The coronavirus epidemic is "spreading" and could reach most, if not all, countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced after Nigeria confirmed the first case of infection in sub-Saharan Africa on Friday.

Five countries - Nigeria, Estonia, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Lithuania - reported their first cases of COVID-19 infection, all linked to travel to Italy, WHO spokesperson Christian Lindmeier revealed.

Regarding BiH, Aida Pilav, director of the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton and head of the KS Crisis Staff, reminded that cases of coronavirus infection have appeared in some neighboring countries in recent days, so its appearance in Bosnia and Herzegovina could be expected.

She emphasized that there are still no confirmed cases of infection in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
