Vuletić warns: Law on Enforcement Procedure amended so the Government can more easily sell some companies

The House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted, under urgent procedure, amendments to the Law on Enforcement Procedure at today's extraordinary session of the Parliament, NAP reports.

According to the new law, all levels of government in the Federation that have enforceable court rulings are obliged to allocate funds in their budgets for the payment of those court enforcement decisions.

The practice of courts in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to change the subject of enforcement, in favor of enforcement claimants, from a monetary claim to the registration of a lien on shares of business entities owned by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, cantons, municipalities, and cities has been abolished.

Experts warn that for some this will appear as a concession to workers, but the essence is that the Government is creating room to more easily sell some companies in which it holds ownership.

The amendments to the law were adopted by the coalition of SDA, HDZ BiH, and SBB with the help of several deputies from the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- It is obvious that company shares have come under attack, which disrupts the plans of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to sell some companies that are of interest to them - warned DF deputy Davor Vuletić. He reminded that this is the second time in the last six months that the Government has amended the Law on Enforcement Procedure. Six months ago, the amendments were also adopted under urgent procedure, NAP reports.
