WOLF ATE THE DONKEY: Bakir traded Mostar to keep Sebija in charge at KCUS

Godot will appear above Velež and descend on the Old Bridge to try the “swallow” before the SDA and its leader Bakir Izetbegović miss the chance to trade both Mostar and Velež, and Mostar's people and Herzegovina's people, for the clinical shade and happiness of his wife.

Because there is nothing Bakir would not do for his love. And at the same time, there is no gold-digger or sponsor-seeker of this new age who could seduce an athlete or an actor as much as Sebija has seduced Bakir.

A familiar story, isn't it.

For a full 12 years, the citizens of the city beneath Velež waited for the chance to elect their own government. A government made up of Mostar's people that would work for the people. And they got it. But, as the old Herzegovinian saying goes, the wolf ate the donkey again.

I don't know if the old eras were that perceptive, but you can bet they hit the nail on the head regarding the momentum we are living through.

The leader of the Party of Democratic Action, puffed up in the role of a great leader, once again sold the state interest for a marital one. In Mostar these days, he hugged his old friend and whispered in his ear, “I give you the mayor, you save my wife.”

For Čović, there was no dilemma. The Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo doesn't mean much to him; he has his own. By protecting Bakir's positions, his wife, and the rest of the entourage around the married couple, he got tens; he still needs an ace, in card-playing terms, to seal the deal.

The ace is in Mostar, and in Čović's dictionary, Mostar is listed as a ‘cathedral city’. And so the agreement was made under the cover of night.

The Government of the Federation and Čović's minister Vjekoslav Mandić saved Sebija from problems with those she drove away from KCUS and those whose pictures make her shudder. The Management Board was concluded; Čović fulfilled his part of the job.

We didn't wait long for Bakir to finish his part either. Without a moment's hesitation, Izetbegović ordered that Mostar must fall. Again, and anew. It didn't fall in the war, but ever since Bakir and Dragan have been deciding its fate in peacetime, it falls every so often. And it rises again.

Bakir first gave Čović cards up his sleeve for control of the state. Then he agreed to play with Čović in the Federation as well, where Čović again picked up the better cards. Mostar also ended up in the hands of the HDZ leader.

Thus, the story of Bakir I. about vertical power was completed. Only that power ended up in the hands of anti-Bosnian forces, stamped with the UZP.

So, from the store of state interests, better known by the acronym SDA, Čović again cheaply bought mechanisms to destroy the system and create a para-state.

But this time Bakir was not alone. He brought along one of the few remaining in the SDA who supposedly dare to raise their tone with the boss. Denis Zvizdić agreed to the role of Bakir's cashier in the game of selling Mostar to protect Sebija Izetbegović.

And just as I write this, that Zvizdić is washing his hands on Twitter, saying how the Bosniak Bloc will be to blame if Bosniaks don't get a mayor. Presumably, those SDA Bosniaks thought Irma Baralija was an Eskimo, so they threw her out in the first round. And unlike Denis and Bakir, that Irma restored democracy to Mostar in one move.

But let's return to the mischievous Denis. Sometimes I think he doesn't even know what he wants. One day left, the next day right. Yesterday against, today under the skirts of Bakir and Seka.

Exactly as if he is handicapped in that part of the brain that affects a person's ability to be decisive. After all the shenanigans the Izetbegović family put him through, he still agreed to be their court jester and, for the interests of the Izetbegovićs, participate in the sale of Mostar.

That's why I am less and less surprised when I see Čović rubbing his hands with satisfaction. Because, for the Izetbegovićs and their minions, Dragan Čović is a dangerous wolf.

Who is the donkey in the second part of the old saying and whether there is a herd of them, judge for yourselves.
