Vujošević: What hurts most is not being with the guys who have character and talent

The coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina basketball team, Duško Vujošević, will not lead our team in tomorrow's match against Armenia due to health problems, reports the Patria agency.

Vujošević had to leave the national team and go to Belgrade for treatment due to finger pain and diabetes.

- It's hard for me because of the pain and because I won't be with the guys I've grown to love so much, with whom I've built a relationship and who are so talented – Vujošević told Belgrade's Blicsport.

The coach of our basketball players pointed out that immediately upon arriving in Bratislava before the match with Slovakia, he felt pain which caused him to sit for most of the game, which is not typical for a person who spends the entire game on their feet.

- I felt pain as soon as I arrived in Bratislava. I did the training, but during the game, I could no longer stand, so I sat for most of it. They took me to the hospital, and gangrene of the fourth finger was diagnosed due to sugar problems. Tests showed that, in addition to the pain, that part had started to turn blue, but there was no blood clot. After medical consultations, it was agreed that I must go to Belgrade for hyperbaric chamber therapy. Thanks to Mr. Tomić, who owns these devices, or rather Dr. Toma Jovanović, I am starting the treatment – Vujošević stated.

Vujošević said that he is extremely sorry that he will not be with the guys he has grown to love so much in a short period.

- Thank you to the people from the BiH Basketball Federation. I also have regular dialysis days, but what hurts most is not being with the guys who have talent and character. From Musa, with whom I have built an excellent relationship, to all the others. I believe in them, even if the Armenians have three Americans with their passports instead of one – Vujošević concluded.

Our national team plays a decisive match in the pre-qualifications for the 2019 World Cup in China on Saturday in Yerevan against host Armenia, and only a victory will suffice for our players to advance.
