Vučurević categorical: Sutorina belongs to Montenegro, which I care about the most

The mayor of Trebinje, Slavko Vučurević, said that for him the story about Sutorina has long been closed. At the same time, he assessed that the reopening of this case now represents an attempt to disrupt relations between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria news agency. 

-As far as I am concerned as the mayor of Trebinje regarding Sutorina, for me this problem practically does not exist. Sutorina is for me an integral part of Herceg Novi, and all these current events I consider a political insinuation designed to spoil relations between Trebinje and Novi and the border municipalities in eastern Herzegovina with Montenegro, which I care about the most, Vučurević said for Antena M.

He said that those who wanted something had the opportunity to resolve it at the state level.

-I think all of this is just malicious insinuation against Trebinje and the municipalities of Eastern Herzegovina. To repeat, Sutorina is an integral part of the municipality of Herceg Novi, it has been like that for years and decades, and I see no way to change such a stance and such an attitude, explains Vučurević.

Commenting on why this issue has been raised just now, he said he believes it is “due to certain social tensions in the RS”.

-Someone thinks that by creating some scandals, like Sutorina, things would be shifted from one field to another, and that this is something already tried to not see the forest for the trees. This is purely a current political story that has nothing to do with it, I believe that my stance is also the stance of the majority of Trebinje citizens – this issue is closed for us, he said.
