HJPC Appointed New Prosecutors and Judges: Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Strengthened with Seven Prosecutors

(Patria) - The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) made decisions on the appointment of judicial office holders in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the second day of its session, held on May 12 and 13, 2026, in Trebinje.

At the level of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ćazim Serhatlić was appointed to the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Brčko District Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the following were appointed:

Slavica Džaferović, to the position of Judge of the Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH;

Lejla Kurtanović, to the position of Judge of the Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH;

Dijana Križanac-Brezar, to the position of Prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton;

Almir Čankušić, to the position of Prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton;

Emira Muhibić, to the position of Prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton;

Selma Bogunić, to the position of Prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton;

Ahmer Škrijelj, to the position of Prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton;

Srđan Ćosović, to the position of Prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton;

Edib Sikira, to the position of Prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton;

Mirna Habibija-Sultanić, to the position of Prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.

At the level of Republika Srpska, the following were appointed: 

Binamir Šakić, to the position of Prosecutor at the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Doboj;

Alem Bradarić, to the position of Prosecutor at the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Doboj;

Smiljana Ristić, to the position of Prosecutor at the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Bijeljina;

Aleksandar Mlađenović, to the position of Prosecutor at the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Bijeljina;

Dušica Radovanović Grubač, to the position of Prosecutor at the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Bijeljina.

When making the Appointment Decision, the HJPC BiH took into account criteria such as: professional knowledge, work experience and work results; professional abilities based on past career achievements; ability to perform duties impartially, conscientiously, diligently, decisively and responsibly within the scope of the function for which they are applying; relationships with colleagues, behavior outside of work, professional impartiality and reputation, and management experience.

When appointing, the HJPC BiH applies the relevant constitutional provisions governing the equal rights and representation of constituent peoples and others, and respects gender equality.
