HJPC Appoints Holders of Judicial Functions: Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton Gets Five Prosecutors, and the District Court of Banja Luka Three Judges

(Patria) - The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) during the second day of the session, held on July 9 and 10, 2025 in Sarajevo, made a decision on the appointment of holders of judicial functions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the following were appointed: Muhamed Tulumović, to the position of judge at the Cantonal Court in Tuzla, Elvedina Omerhodžić, to the position of prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, Nedžida Kunić, to the position of prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, Emil Pinkas, to the position of prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, Elma Heljić-Šekerić, to the position of prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, Adnan Karović, to the position of prosecutor at the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.

At the level of the Republika Srpska, the following were appointed: Dalibor Vrećo, to the position of judge at the District Court in Banja Luka, Desanka Đukić, to the position of judge at the District Court in Banja Luka, Gordana Vinojčić-Topić, to the position of judge at the District Court in Banja Luka.

When making the Decision on appointment, the HJPC BiH took into account criteria such as: professional knowledge, work experience and work results; professional ability based on previous career results; ability to perform duties within the function for which they are applying impartially, conscientiously, diligently, decisively and responsibly; relationships with work colleagues, behavior outside work, professional impartiality.

When appointing, the HJPC BiH applies appropriate constitutional provisions regulating equal rights and representation of constituent peoples and others, and respects equal gender representation.
