VSTV BiH Appoints New Holders of Judicial Functions in FBiH and RS

(Patria) - The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) during the second day of the session, held on 15 and 16 January 2026 in Sarajevo, made a decision on the appointment of holders of judicial functions in
Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the following were appointed:

- Boris Herceg, to the position of President of the Municipal Court in Čitluk;
- Lejla Ferhatović, to the position of President of the Municipal Court in Goražde;
- Mirjana Kulić, to the position of President of the Municipal Court in Živinice;
- Melika Murtezić, to the position of Judge of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- Aleksandra Ždral, to the position of Judge of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the level of the Republika Srpska, the following was appointed:

- Brankica Spasojević, to the position of President of the Basic Court in Gradiška.

In making the Decision on Appointment, the HJPC BiH took into account criteria such as: professional knowledge, work experience and work results; professional ability based on previous career results; ability to perform duties within the function for which they are applying impartially, conscientiously, diligently, decisively and responsibly; relationships with work colleagues, conduct outside work, professional impartiality and reputation, and experience in managerial positions.

In the appointment process, the HJPC BiH applies relevant constitutional provisions regulating equal rights and representation of constituent peoples and others, and respects gender balance.
