Let's bring a smile back to Dzejlan's face, his wish is to have his own home again

The Hrnjic family from Maglaj with eight-year-old Dzejlan, who is 100% disabled, had to leave their home after the May floods. 

Nine months later, this family still lives in a house that is unsuitable, writes the Patria news agency.

The portal for helping the vulnerable, sadake.com, published a letter from Alisa Hrnjic asking for help. We are publishing it in full.

- My name is Alisa Hrnjic and I live in Maglaj. In May, like many others, I lost my home. The flood destroyed everything. We bought the house shortly before the flood. The house is old construction. Since we have two sons, Edznan, 11 years old, and Dzejlan, 8 years old, the house attracted us most because of the yard.

Our Dzejlan is 100 percent disabled and a child with special needs. That yard meant everything to him. He played, swung, bathed in a small pool, etc.

Everything we did, we borrowed and took out loans. We can't anymore. Since August, our house has been without a roof. The walls, already wet from the flood, have been soaking for months. Our Dzejlan has a weaker immune system and often has bronchitis attacks. He is allergic to dampness and humid weather. That is why we ask you if you can help us to fix the roof. Just so the house can start drying out more. We unfortunately have no money, writes Alisa Hrnjic.
