Vranić wrote to Šteta: I no longer want to be the Minister of Health, my proposal is Ademir Spahić, SDP is between survival and disappearance

(Patria) - Minister of Health of KS Haris Vranić (SDP BiH) announced on Facebook, asking for his name not to be on the list of proposals for the new Government of Sarajevo Canton. With this announcement, Vranić put an end to speculations about whether he would be in the new KS Government or not. We are publishing the announcement in its entirety.

"Dear President Šteta, dear members of the Presidency of KO SDP Sarajevo.

I kindly ask you to accept my request at tomorrow's session of the Presidency of KO SDP Sarajevo that my name not be considered at all for the position of old/new Minister of Health in the KS Government, given that I have become too tired and "worn out" over these 3 years as minister, which has significantly and greatly affected my health. I won't hide it, it was too difficult. It's time to hand it over to more rested and younger people.

It's time to return to my profession, if my health allows, where I worked for almost 30 years. I leave the evaluation of my work as Minister of Health of KS to the citizens. The good things done, despite all the obstacles, are quickly forgotten, while the bad things are remembered for a long time.

Fighting in a system that is completely devastated, completely party-controlled and clientelistic (to put it mildly) is like fighting windmills. I have stepped on many toes. Many good things have been done for the citizens, but much remains undone.

Without the support of politics and higher levels of government, it is an illusion to expect any improvement. The interest in changing the health system from politicians is negligible, except in moments when they need that help.

If I have the opportunity and influence, and based on previous conversations with all members of the Presidency of KO SDP Sarajevo, who had the same stance, I propose doc. dr. Ademir Spahić as the new Minister of Health, whom I don't need to introduce to you, you all know him too well. Of course, all other proposals are welcome, but if they come from the base itself. Impositions are no longer welcome. I would like the new Minister of Health of KS to be an unimposed, genuine proposal from KO SDP Sarajevo. He will have my full support and help if needed.

I think this is the last moment for SDP BiH, if it hasn't already been too late due to party negligence and inaction, to urgently start working to save the idea of social democracy in BiH, which is to return to the base, ordinary citizens, the disenfranchised, workers, peasants, as well as to pursue a statutory, independent, sovereign, clear, brave, and decisive policy that will have the support of the base, not a policy from the invisible background. Our policy must be indigenous, not subservient.
SDP BiH faces a great challenge, to survive or disappear. It's up to us.

KO SDP Sarajevo must finally start working and making decisions independently, without the imposition of the will of others. Our results in the last general elections in BiH in KS clearly showed this, a huge growth, which gave us full legality and legitimacy for KO SDP to make decisions independently within its competencies. Unfortunately, the practice so far has been different.

SDP BiH is our common home, and what has been "taken" must be returned to the membership.
And of course, the most important thing, which has always been the core and motto of social democracy, is that your party comrade is like a brother/sister, don't forget that.

Finally, I want to thank all comrades from SDP BiH for our work together, for the support, especially comrades from the Presidency of KO SDP Sarajevo, thank you all for your cooperation. We continue.
However, I must single out, and without offending anyone, a special BIG THANKS for all the support in the "battles" I fought, and which I will never forget, to my Štele, Davor, and Keni," stated Vranić.
