Vranić demands all healthcare institutions reduce non-urgent surgeries and examinations

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton and Chairman of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton Haris Vranić sent a letter on January 19 to all healthcare institutions in this canton to reduce the number of surgical procedures and medical examinations that are not urgent.

Vranić sent the notice to all public and private healthcare institutions in Sarajevo Canton, and, as he stated, given the new situation in Sarajevo Canton, caused by a sharp increase in the number of patients infected with the COVID-19 virus, with the aim of preventing the spread of the virus among employees of healthcare institutions in the area of Sarajevo Canton and maintaining the regular work process in them.

"The management of all healthcare institutions is ordered, through their Crisis Staffs in accordance with the crisis preparedness plan, to coordinate the work organization of their employees, in the sense that work in these institutions is organized in a way that will enable compliance with all valid hygiene-epidemiological measures, while at the same time not jeopardizing work processes, as is also provided for by the current valid orders of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health.

Furthermore, it is ordered that all surgical programs and all examinations by competent doctors, which do not have the status of urgency in treatment, be reduced – states the notice signed by Vranić.

Also, Minister Vranić sent a letter to all ministries in the Government of Sarajevo Canton and professional services of the Government of Sarajevo Canton regarding the conduct of employees.

"Wearing protective masks indoors is mandatory, closed rooms must be ventilated, disinfectants must be placed in hallways," it states.

Also, Vranić called on all civil servants and employees who have not been vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus, as well as those who have not yet received the 3rd booster dose, to do so as soon as possible.
