Are water restrictions returning: VIK appealed to Sarajevo residents for rational water consumption!

(Patria) - Due to extremely high temperatures and increased water consumption, we are experiencing a very difficult hydrological situation. At all sources from which water is taken for supply to consumers in Sarajevo Canton, there has been a decrease in yield, states the appeal of the KJKP Vodovod i kanalizacija KS, addressed to the citizens of Sarajevo to reduce water consumption.

"We are taking necessary measures at the level of the entire system to mitigate the negative consequences of extreme air temperatures and the dry period that arrived very early this year, following a winter with scarce snowfall. Unfortunately, we cannot influence these factors, and we appeal for rational use of available water quantities for the common good of all of us," the appeal states.

"It is a fact that due to the dilapidation of the water supply network, we are recording water losses from the supply system, but also that teams are in the field daily repairing faults. Constant investment is being made in the renewal of the water supply network to preserve this most important natural resource," state the KJP Vodovod i kanalizacija.

The question is only whether this is an announcement of the return of water restrictions?
