The final arguments in the trial of ambulance driver Adnan Salčin are scheduled for June 20 at 9 AM in the Municipal Court in Sarajevo. The driver is on trial because three years ago, while driving an ambulance vehicle in Vogošća, he hit a boy on a bicycle, Haris Tvrtković, reports Patria.
Salčin, without a patient in the vehicle, bypassed a line of vehicles stopped at a red light and hit Haris. Since then, the boy has been immobile, unable to speak or perform physiological functions normally. He has undergone a series of surgeries paid for by good people, not institutions.
During the first trial, the judge only considered the testimony of the ambulance driver's defense witnesses and did not explain his decision, which led the Cantonal Court to return the proceedings to the beginning. In the retrial against Salčin, the boy also testified. He confirmed that the ambulance driver ran a red light. When asked what color the traffic light was when he was crossing the intersection on his bicycle, Haris pointed to a green marker from the three offered: green, yellow, and red.
