Drivers beware: Heavy rain causes traffic disruptions

Heavy rain falling in most of Bosnia and Herzegovina has caused difficulties in traffic flow. BIHAMK warns of frequent rockfalls on the roads.

- We appeal to drivers to drive with maximum caution and to maintain a safe distance between vehicles - stated BIHAMK.

The situation is no better in the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo, where the main city thoroughfare is clogged with cars and traffic is moving very slowly, with the road literally covered in water, writes Patria.

Taxi services are overwhelmed, and it is almost impossible to find an available vehicle, especially in the afternoon hours when a large number of people finish work.

Elsewhere, around 4:20 PM, an accident occurred in Skenderija in which two young women were injured. They were hit by a tram traveling on the Ilidža - Baščaršija route.

As stated by the spokesperson for the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, Muamera Šehić, one young woman was released for home treatment after examination.

- The young woman Č.D. (1983) has knee contusions and was released for home treatment, while the young woman NJ.A. (1983) has head and collarbone contusions, has been referred for examination by an orthopedist, and will most likely be released for home treatment - Šehić told Patria.
