Drivers exercise caution on roads: Black ice in central parts of the country

Rain that freezes on contact with the ground is slowing down traffic on road routes in the central parts of the country, so drivers are urged to exercise increased caution, according to BIHAMK, writes Patria. 

The A-1 Tarčin-Zenica highway, the M-17 Sarajevo-Konjic and M-18 Sarajevo-Olovo main roads, as well as all roads in the Sarajevo Canton area, are highlighted. Due to fog, visibility is reduced in some places in the wider areas of Sarajevo, Vitez, Novi Travnik, Kiseljak, Trnovo, and Foča.

Black ice is possible in higher mountain areas, as well as on bridges and approaches to tunnels. On sections passing through cuttings, attention is drawn to possible landslides of earth or stones onto the road.

Works in Croatia are still ongoing at the Bosanski Brod-Slavonski Brod and Orašje-Županja border crossings, so traffic is slow at these crossings during the day. Delays at other border crossings do not exceed 30 minutes.
 
Short traffic jams occur on sections where renovation works are being carried out and where compliance with the posted signage is mandatory. We highlight the M-17 Žepče-Nemila, M-6 Čapljina-Studenci, M-18 Tuzla-Priboj, and R-414 Turbe-Banja Luka road routes.

Drivers are urged to drive with maximum caution, and not to set off on a journey without winter equipment, the possession of which is legally mandatory for all vehicle categories.
