Drivers beware: Freezing rain, do not travel without winter equipment

(Patria) - According to information from the BiHAMK Information Center, all bans have been lifted, but trucks with trailers are still recommended to use chains on snow-covered roads. Due to the weight of the snow, there are frequent reports of fallen trees on the road. Special caution is advised to drivers due to pedestrians walking on the road, as sidewalks are still covered with a large amount of snow, as well as due to snow falling from roofs.

Due to the announced freezing rain, drivers are urged to be especially careful and not to travel without the prescribed winter equipment.

Due to winter driving conditions in the Republic of Croatia, a traffic ban for trucks with trailers and semi-trailers is in effect at the Izačić border crossing.

There are long queues of passenger vehicles at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border crossings: Izačić, Hadžin Potok, Velika Kladuša, Novi Grad, Kozarska Dubica, Kostajnica, Gradina, Gradiška, Brod, Orašje, Brčko, and Svilaj. At other border crossings, passenger vehicle traffic occasionally intensifies, but for now, it is proceeding with delays of up to 30 minutes.

Due to passenger registration under the new system for entering and exiting European Union countries (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. From December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing will be open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.

Traffic for vehicles up to 3.5 tons is allowed on the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.
